Why does the red light come on?

The red service light automatically comes on at 3 to 3.5 power level. For start-up, when trying to raise the ions in the pool with the power at maximum, the light comes on to help alert the pool owner that the power setting is still set high. The Power Ionizer should only have to be set on maximum for a few days; otherwise the ion level in the pool water becomes too high. As the chamber uses the copper/silver bars, it takes a higher power level to maintain the same rate of ions transferring to the pool water. The light coming on at this time is to remind the pool owner to order a replacement chamber.
