If the Langelier Saturation Index falls between +0.3 and -0.3 The water is still considered balanced and no adjustments to the pool water are needed.
A Langelier Saturation Index higher than +0.3 specifies the likelihood that the pool water has scale-forming capabilities.
A Langelier Saturation Index lower than -0.3 specifies the probability that the pool water to be corrosive.
The Langelier Saturation Index is similar to pH in that it is logarithmic. A difference of 1.0 comes to ten times the severity of the calculation.
